Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vignobles de la Serrière White 2022

91 points

A strong effort from this estate, the medium to full-bodied 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Vignobles de la Serrière is an assemblage of 45% Clairette, 30% Bourboulenc, 20% Grenache Blanc and 5% Roussanne. Fermented in stainless steel, then matured in a mix of demi-muids and barriques, with about 20% new oak, it's generous and round on the palate without being overly ripe or broad, blending notes of prickly pear, lime and tangerine on the long, silky-textured finish.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grande Reserve Red 2021

92 points

Beauchene's 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Grande Reserve ratchets up the intensity, offering copious cherry fruit and stone fruit allied to attractive notions of dried spices. Full-bodied and supple, this blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah is classic CdP, with ample length and soft, dusty tannins on the finish.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vignobles de la Serrière red 2021

89+ points

The 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Vignobles de la Serriere is 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and just 5% Mourvèdre, matured mostly in older barriques. Quite fruit-forward, it offers up scents of cherries and stone fruit on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, smooth and mouthwatering. It does show some grippy tannins on the finish, so give it a year or two to round into form.
