In these winter times, vine shoots are now
bare and the pruning season has begun.
Matinée de décembreau château Beauchêne
On the cellar side, whites and rosé 2018 were bottled. This year, the whites,
harvested earlier, have a nice balance of freshness and acidity, with a predominance
of elegant floral aromas. The Viognier continues its ageing in barrels, it will be bottled
in the first quarter of 2019. We find again, in the cuvée 2018, its distinctive aromas of
yellow fruits (peaches, apricot), fresh flowers and dried fruits giving it this amazing
subtlety of a dry white wine combining body and mellow..
This year, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc is aged in barrels. The delicate aromas of
Clairette and Grenache Blanc blend with the wood and bring complex mouthwatering
and very promising notes. For the reds, the ageing continues, in barrels and
demi-muids for Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Premier Terroir and in vats for our
Côtes-du-Rhône. The 2018 vintage, with a very satisfactory volume, seduces with its
oenological qualities..
On the vine side, Château Beauchêne has just been certified
High Environmental Value: it is an official certification
recognized by the Government that validates the efforts
put in place in terms of biodiversity, management of the
estate and environmental performance. All the work done
for several years has been rewarded here: the beehives
around the vineyards, the wealth of biodiversity on the
estate, the management of the vineyard in terms of crop
protection (minimum use of phytosanitary products), but
also and especially in protecting the surrounding flora and
fauna have been analyzed, checked and certified to reach the
highest level. The future of the estate lies in the excellence of the wines produced
and raised, but also in this environmental excellence.
See you all very soon.
